Are you kidding? The new PfP table is complete garbage. The first ability is pathetic, the second ability is basically giving you back the rule your units should get as standard.

Sure, you risk casualties when it does, but you can't be pinned and the chances aren't that high. Hellions have dmg2 weapons and can assault after falling back.
